First Aid Kit

Recently I bought at Office Depot a very cheap camera bag, it has the right size compartments to allocate a 12oz french press, a 2.5oz moka pot, a couple of 3oz cups, a can of P11 and a measure spoon. During long weekends when I visit some friends at their beach or country houses I carry on the kit to give them some quality drinks, they love that.

Three Titans

Coming this morning from Santa Lucía Milpas Altas -at 2,000 masl- I stopped to take this view of the Agua, Fuego and Acatenango volcanos. At the right of Agua, 500 meters below and under the clouds is the valley of the city of Antigua Guatemala.

Monja Blanca

Lycaste Skinneri Alba is the cientific name of one of the most beautiful orchid species known to man, also is the national flower of Guatemala, where it is known as Monja Blanca, the white nun. It grows in virgin rainforests of México, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador at 1,200 to 1,800 masl.

Vertical Prison

The purpose of a prison is to isolate the inmates from society and a prison needs a barrier to do so. A vertical prison does so without a wall, instead it isolates the inmates through height, where jumping off the prison is the only option. The design, which was the winner of Evolo Magazine's 2010 skyscraper competition, probably won't be built anytime soon. But it's still interesting! Get the whole idea at evolo.us.
