Hoy en día las herramientas para trabajar son increíbles, y más si el trabajo es creatividad, arte, diseño, etc. Apenas un par de décadas debíamos depender de nuestra habilidad para dibujar o de procedimientos lentos de copiado, sin hablar de un reducido arsenal de referencia, hoy el mundo entero esta a un click de distancia con la posibilidad de copiar, armar, pegar y enviar casi inmediatamente. Los que nacimos en otra época indudablemente valoramos ésto mucho más que los jóvenes de hoy.

2007 Trial World Championship

En 2007 tuve la oportunidad de ver una de las fechas del mundial de trial outdoor que se realizó en Guatemala, un día completo de entrenos y el día de la competencia, fue maravilloso ver de cerca las hazañas de pilotos como Bou, Lampkin, Cabestany, Raga y Fujinami entre otros, entrar a los pits y ver las máquinas de cerca y toda la parafernalia que rodea un mundial. Ojalá podamos tener nuevamente una oportunidad como ésta, de presenciar en nuestro país un evento tan singular.

Hoy el día amaneció con mucho viento, frio y cielos despejados, decidí salir en bicicleta a los lugares vecinos que usualmete transito, no esta de más decir que las urbanizaciones siguen creciendo e invadiendo tierras que en otros tiempos (o aún) servían para el cultivo. De todas formas a 2,000 mts sobre el nivel del mar y con tierras verdes todo el año, es un placer que haga viento en pleno inicio de temporada lluviosa.

Recientemente mi cuñado, poseedor de una R60, tomó la decisión de restaurarla a fondo, para ello contactamos a Max Kestler, quizás la persona -en Guatemala- con más autoridad en la materia, visitamos su taller y pudimos ver varias motos antiguas en un perfecto estado de restauración, incluyendo una R12 con la que nos tomamos esta foto.
